Outlines are Saul's home turf. Here's the whole lifecycle, from blank page to shared study resource.
Creating an outline
Open a class and go to the Outline tab, or visit the Outlines page from the sidebar. Click New outline and give it a title. Free accounts get 5 outlines per class; Plus and Elite are unlimited.
Editing
The editor works like a familiar word processor: headings, bullet lists, bold/italic, and more. Your work saves automatically as you type, so you can switch tabs or close the window without losing anything.
Sharing with classmates
Click Share on any outline and search for a classmate by name or email — sharing is free on every plan. People you share with see the outline under their Shared with me tab. You can also share with someone who doesn't have an account yet; they'll get an email inviting them to view it.
Tips
- Convert an uploaded Word or PDF outline into an editable one with Make editable on the material.
- Use the note editor's AI actions (summarize, expand, polish) on selected text to clean up rough sections.
